Komo Grain Mills

Komo are an Austrian maker of home grain mills.

Komo grain mills are mainly wooden and use electric to power an internal stone mill. The Komo home mills are an easy way to mill flour and other dried goods at home.

The models are made in Austria and mill inventor Wolfgang Mock GmbH has helped to shape the product range.

Komo History

As far back as 1985, Peter Koidl builds his first grain mill. Austrian demand is strong and willing and the his first mill is popular in Austrian households. Koidi, developed the mill with a keen commitment to the natural environment. For every mill sold, a maple tree was planted.

In 1995, the Komo founder begins the Penningberger Kornmühlen (PK) brand. The brand name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue but the mills rolled off a production line with ease. Additionally, Koidi chose to produce the mills in a warehouse manned by people of disability. The Tyrol workshop ensured work for disabled people who made up 85% of the factory workforce.

In 2002, the PK brand evolves into what we know it as today – Komo.

In 2013, Peter enlists the help of his son Marcel Koidi. Marcel is a trained mechanical engineer and assists with general tasks. Marcel is no responsible for the day to day running of the Komo brand and company.
